ABOUT ME
Martin Kayser-Landwehr, BFE
is a senior film editor whose craft is built on a unique cinematic heritage: his family has been an integral part of the film industry for over a century. This deep-seated legacy provides him with an instinctive grasp of visual rhythm and narrative structure, which he has refined over 30 years at the forefront of European storytelling.
Now based in London, Martin is a sought-after collaborator for high-end, socially relevant projects. His recent work includes the critically acclaimed feature documentary "The Oil Machine" (director Emma Davie) and a series of high-stakes investigative features with director Laura Warner, including "The Crane’s Call" and the BAFTA & Grierson-nominated, and RTS Award-winning "Maternity: Broken Trust" (2025).
Known for his ability to find the "fictional thriller" within documentary footage, Martin won the prestigious Grimme Award for "Dark Eden," a testament to his immersive and atmospheric editing style.
His portfolio covers over 100 projects for major broadcasters like the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, ARTE, ARD and ZDF.
Beyond technical mastery, Martin is a vocal advocate for an "Access First" post-production culture. He believes that the editing suite is a crucial space for fostering inclusion—not just in the stories told, but in the collaborative process itself.
By championing accessible workflows and inclusive storytelling, he aligns his vast experience with the future of an equitable industry. He is a member of the British Film Editors Association (BFE).
